Upgrade your smile with our dentist

Veneers are becoming an increasingly popular treatment that we are seeing at Spa Dental Sydney. Veneers are tailor-made shells that are designed to fit over the outer surface of your teeth in order to conceal a number of imperfections. This includes cracks, chips, gaps and stains amongst other blemishes that you may experience. Our dentist in Sydney will use dental grade composite or porcelain in order to create shells that resemble the colour of your teeth making them appear more natural.
Why would I need veneers?
Veneers are a suitable solution for those who wish to enhance the appearance of their smile. You may consider getting veneers for a variety of reasons. Chipped or broken teeth are one of the most common reasons people visit our dentist in Sydney to get dental veneers; this could be caused by trauma to the teeth or decay which makes them look unsightly. Another reason you may consider getting veneers is due to gaps between your teeth or to align misshapen teeth. Veneers are also a suitable option for those who suffer with staining or yellowing on their teeth which is difficult to remove and at the same time veneers are able to resist staining unlike your natural teeth. With the proper care, veneers can last for up to a total of fifteen years and do not require any additional maintenance making them easy to upkeep.
What types of veneers are there?
There are various types of veneers our dentist in Sydney can offer you, based on your personal preference and what they believe would be the best option for your teeth.
The most common type of veneers offered are composite veneers which conceal mild issues that your teeth may have. Our dentist uses a composite resin that is the shade of natural enamel in order to create the shell and provide you with your desired results.
Porcelain veneers are also a very popular type of veneer as they can fix various cosmetic imperfections. Before placing porcelain veneers on your teeth, our dentist must remove some of the enamel from them in order to roughen the surface, so that the veneers will stay in place.
Details of the procedure
If you opt to go ahead with getting veneers, our dentist will begin with an examination of your teeth and gums to determine whether you are suitable for them. Veneers are only a suitable option for you if you do not suffer from cavities or gum disease; if this is not the case for you, our dentist will recommend first addressing your oral health issues before proceeding with the cosmetic treatment. Should your oral health be of a satisfactory condition, they will then begin shaving small amounts of your enamel to prepare your teeth for the placement of the veneers. Our dentist will then take an impression of your teeth so that custom-made shells can be created to fit on top of your natural teeth. Once our dentist receives the set of veneers, they will check the fit, shape and colour of the veneers and permanently bond them onto your natural teeth using dental cement. Once this step has been completed, they will end the procedure by double checking the fit of the veneers and make any necessary adjustments.
All treatment carries risks. Individual consultation is required with one of our practitioners to ensure that the treatment is right for you.
